Reasons for Not Lecturing

• When a lecture would add little to information students could find in readings or other material with little more effort or guidance.
• The primary objective is to stimulate more complex thought processes that require more active learning.
• You lack the knowledge of the students’/residents’ level of interest, experience, knowledge or understanding of the information to be presented.
